Where are you located?
We are an LLC home-based bakery out of Derby, KS. Our address is shared only after an order is paid and ready for pick up, as it is also a private place of residence.
Am I able to stop in and buy something?
Unfortunately no. We are not a store-front, however we are working on "sweets in the case" treats that will be available on weekends. Coming soon of course!
Why do I have a rush fee?
Rush fees are accrued if your order is needed within a 7 day window. We ask that all orders be placed 7 days in advance, minimum to ensure a quality product. A rush fee is added if anyone places an order very last minute. This would mean that you are essentially cutting in line, placing your order as priority to anyone who planned ahead and ordered in a timely manner. Additionally, SugarStudio316 LLC is run by a staff who also works 40+ hours outside of the bakery. We ask that you be courteous and plan orders ahead to avoid a rush fee.
What is the “Shelf-Life” of a cake and/or cheesecake from SugarStudio316 LLC?
This will vary based on the surrounding temperature and humidity levels. As a rule, all cakes stay fresh for a longer period when refrigerated. At a typical room temperature at about 72* or lower, it is okay to leave cakes out of the refrigerator for 24 hours without noticing change in quality. If you do not plan on eating the cake within 4-5 days, you can extend its life in the freezer. Following the below will give your treats the best chance at retaining quality.
Typical room temperature and average humidity levels – 24 hours
Refrigerator – 3-5 days
Freezer – (32* F or lower) Up to 4 weeks
*Cheesecakes & Cheesecake Cones must be refrigerated at all times.
Can someone else pick up my order for me?
Sure! Just shoot us a message to our business page and let us know who's coming for the treat(s)!
Can you do cakes/treats with a personal photo, custom image or tv show/cartoon image?
We sure can. Edible images run $5 per sheet needed to achieve the requested design.
Do you offer shipping of products?
At this time, we don't. We are trying to figure out a way for our treats to make it out of state without sacrificing the quality of the product.
Can I pay a deposit for my order?
Unfortunately no. We do require all orders be paid in full at the time that the order is placed, no exceptions. Please note that your order will not be fulfilled if the order is not fully paid. Additionally, if the order is paid late, then it may acquire an automatic rush fee, as orders are not started until after they have been paid in full.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Due to COVID-19, We currently accept paypal, cashapp or venmo.
How much is the rush fee?
The rush fee is $30 in addition to the cost of the product. We kindly ask that all orders be placed at least 7 days in advance to allow for any additional shipping of products to arrive if needed for your product. Our baker(s) work 40+ hours outside of the bakery, so this also allows flexibility for them to complete your product(s). If orders are placed within the 7 day window of the due date, this would acquire an automatic rush fee, even if is only 6 days in advance, as this would be considered "last minute." Additionally, please be mindful that most bakeries ask for a window of 2-4 weeks in advance.
What days do you operate?
We operate 7 days a week. If there are any closures (because life happens), they will be announced on our facebook page.
Why are your prices higher than what I would find at a big box store?
This is a privately owned bakery where price-breaks are not received to the owner/operators when purchasing ingredients to produce products. Our products do not arrive frozen and they're also made with love and from scratch. Additionally you would be paying for the time spent on making your custom product.
How should I store my cookies?
Be sure to store them in the box they were given in and/or an air-tight container to retain freshness and quality. If you do not plan on consuming the cookies within 5-7 days, be sure to freeze them for up to 1 month and eat them as you want them. P.S. Cookie crumbles make great sundae toppers :)
What are pick up times?
Pick up time is usually between 12p-1p on the date that the order is due, unless otherwise arranged.
Do you deliver?
Yes, we do deliver for a fee of $30. This could change based on the cost of gas. We only deliver to the Wichita, KS area and immediate surrounding suburbs (Maize, Andover, Derby, Goddard, Haysville, Park City & Valley Center)
Do you offer gluten-friendly and/or sugar free treats?
We do. Just about anything we make can also be made using gluten-friendly and/or sugar substitutes. We use splenda for our sugar-free treats by default. If you prefer a different method of sugar-free sweetener, please let us know! Please be advised that any special dietary treats may have a different texture than a regular treat. Additionally, they may differ in price.
Do you have nuts?
Some of our treats do contain nuts, however most of them don't. Please be advised that any treat prepared here may contain milk, eggs, wheat, soybean, peanuts and tree nuts.
Do you offer wedding cakes?
At this time we don't. We specialize in dessert cakes and specialty cakes as well as other treats. We do also offer treats for weddings, birthdays, baby showers, retirements, graduations and just about any event. Check out or delicious menu by clicking here.
